  • Shouldn't the Red Stick Creek warriors have the Brown Bess Muskets?

  • @Eddythebeast666 Thanks for the message. Actually, the brown bess is appropriate for both sides of this battle. Although the Red Sticks were being armed by the British with older muskets and trade weapons, the settlers and militia at the fort would have had access to the many bess muskets still in use after the F&I and Rev War periods. Great question.

  • good video! I filmed part of the re-enactment this year. On my channel.

  • @psaltsman I saw your video. Good work. Nice video.

  • Yeah, that bit of sound was just the thing needed. See you in August.

  • @nactorman Good answer, thank you.

  • I home to come and meet some of the reenactors and hopefully find some that will do period interviews for video vignettes on youtube. Lots of folks around our area of Chumuckla are descended from both sides of this battle.

  • I had family on at least one side of that fight, the one that lost

  • I think the first part you show is the Battle of Burnt Corn Creek which was in July 1813. The attack on the fort was a surprise and the soldiers were not outside. At least that is the story.

  • my grandfather realized he was on youtube for the first time. hes the one that screamed "close the gate!" :)
