Cenk Uyagar Abbuda Buddha click click clack. Why cant this guy have a nice christian name

@MetalDetroit You have obviously poor knowledge about this subject. The term 'illegal combatants' does not exist in the Geneva Convention. Check it up, and come back if you find it.
-
@AngeCord exeellent attempt - but you are incorrect ! The fact that they do NOT wear a nations uniform - they are NOT civilians they are considered ILLEGAL COMBATANTS under the Geneva Convention. you are PROFOUNDLY INCORRECT !
-
@MetalDetroit If Geneva Convention does not apply, they are considered civilians and civilian laws applies. If you do not threat them like civilian criminals you are violating your own laws and should be trialed in court. In your example, USA had death penalty on espionage, so they where correctly punished as civilian criminals. What we see now is politicians that act above the law. This should worry you. Do not allow Washington to print 'get out of jail' cards for themselves.

@johnedwards1968 The Geneva Convention does not apply to terrorists..... They are military combatants who do not wear the uniform of any nation and purposely target civilians. There fore, under the Rules of the Geneva Convention - the Geneva Convention protections do not apply to them...Perfect example: World War 2 - Germany sent undercover agents to New York to bomb factories; they were turned in by one of the Germans who changed his mind. They were all hung as spies.

Obama's weakness on this issue has been why the GOP has been so emboldened.
It's a clear-cut case with precedent. Water-boarding is torture! Torture is against the Geneva convention. The Geneva convention is US law. Therefore the Bush administration broke US laws.
-
God forbid the law should apply to the rich and powerful, not in Amerika baby!
-
So if Obama decided to make a "policy" decision to round up millions of Americans and execute them, and set off a nuclear bomb in New York and urinate on the flag, Republicans wouldn't bother prosecuting him because he just had a different policy???
I think when a president steps over the line and imprisons Americans for years without a trial, and executes people without a trial, and tortures prisoners, that's no longer a policy difference.
-
Lol - torture is a "policy difference"... "we didn't torture you, we implemented an innovative policy on you" sounds almost warm and fuzzy
Rove is a criminal. Prosecute him.

Yeah, Karl Rove mister nice inclusive politics.
"policy difference", His logic is always so flawed, he hopes nobody really pays attention.
And in regards to the torture and the vengence part, what ends up happening is that it spreads like an infection and you get Abu Grab...slippery slope.
