Part 1: Geothermal owner review
Part 1 of my review of our experience with geothermal heating and cooling. In this part I give details about my buying experience, cost, operational savings and general thoughts. We've had our geothermal since August 2006. It's great. This is not intended to be a commercial. I couldn't find any youtube posts of geothermal owners. I only found commercials.

Part 2: Geothermal equipment, owner review
Part 2 of my review of our experience with geothermal heating anc cooling. This part shows the equipment as it is running. We've had our geothermal since August 2006. It's great.

  • noclouds111 - Awesome! Those are great incentives. The incentives are much nicer nowadays than in 2006. $30k cars will never make an owner money but a ground-source heat pump will! Surprising geothermal hasn't caught on more.

  • Thank you for posting this!! My sister and I are going to get geothermal and your video really helps.

  • Thanks for the review! We are currently considering this system here in Canada and your review(might be the only"review" on youtube lol) extremely informative.

  • As a comparison to your install, ours was $28k before deductions of 30 percent Fed tax break right off the top, & also a 2k per ton (3 ton unit) break from state of CT, & $1500 from the elec company. Added up, the deal was a no-brainer. While the Geo unit is 'green', it does suck up quite a bit of electricity...which is created by burning fossil fuels. In any event, our installer said, 'you're gonna love it!' And, he was right!

    Thanks again for your review!

  • Good review. In Aug 2010, we retrofitted our 1550 sq ft home for Geo (with ductwork), & a solar-electric system. On very cold days, we use over 50kw/day, thermostat set at 70 deg. Although the monthly elec bill on the coldest months is over $200, the cost of oil is at $3.40. We can already project that our Geo unit will be the clear winner after a year, and this includes heat, hot water, & cooling. We can't wait to experience the cooling aspect of this unit. continued....PT2

  • thanks for your review... i'm just in the early stages of learning about geothermal heating and you video was much appreciated.
