Environment minister Peter Garrett talks to Fran about the controversy surrounding the dangerous roof insulation that has killed four people and, according to WA fire authorities, has led to one roof fire every week in Western Australia. This isn't the first program roll-out in Peter Garrett's portfolio that has come under fire. He also discusses solar panel rebates, and the green loans scheme.
yeah, let's hope only the qualified ones join up eh?

How much of a nanny state do we want?I mean if these idiots cant tell at 40deg its too hot to be in a roof,or decide to cut bats in the roof over wires and lay them over halogen lights and kill themselves ITS THEIR FAULT! When are we going to go back to taking responsibility for our own actions?

Fran, you should be ashamed of this interview. Your questioning shows a clear lack of understanding of the issue at hand and what the ROLE of the Department is. Your incessant desire to score an easy partisan point is deplorable.

Oh Fran, you've been around for a while and frankly your near-sightedness on this topic is appalling. The PROGRAM has not been a killer: installators are not installing the stuff in accordance with safety reqs that have been around since DAY 1!!
