She gritted her teeth and followed Joe's lead. Joe stopped after the first three waves and watched her. She looked back. "What?"
"You're really good at this." He nodded. "Sweet." He grinned like a 5-year old getting a candy from his mom. Selena looked away before she could smile back and saw Taylor, Nick and Kevin walking away.
"Hey, where are they going?" She looked back at Joe with urgency.
He shrugged. "They got bored. It happens everytime I surf. Maybe we'll see them this lunch."
A lightning suddenly struck her. "Wha-Why? We can't. We have to go with them."
"Do you seriously want to watch movies all morning?" He studied her and smiled, knowing that he got her. "I know I don't."
"Fine. But let's do this for only an hour."
"Sweet." He grinned again.
"Will you stop using that word?" She almost shouted at him.
He looked at her with fake innocence. "Why? Because it makes you smile? Well, I'm sorry for being so damn adorable." And he left her again as he rode his surfing board.
"Trust me, you're really not sorry." She whispered to herself.
They surfed for an hour without talking, just silently stealing glances from each other until Selena spoke up.
"I think we better go. It's been an hour."
"Okay." He picked up his board and Selena's. She grabbed it from. "No need to do that." He grabbed it again. "But I want to, okay?" Then he walked away. Selena followed him behind with his eyes on her feet. All of a sudden Joe turned to him.
"I'm done with this!"
She looked up. "What are you talking about?"
"You know what the hell I'm talking about, Selena. Why can't we be the way we were before?"
"Joe, the situation is different now. We were just having fun. I'm not effing my relationship with my best friend for a fling, okay? You have a girlfriend and you should act like you have one."
"I can't."
"You can. You're just confused, okay? If you want, I can fly over to the states today so you can sort out your feelings because I know you really don't like me. You love Taylor, okay? Remember that."
He ignored her. "Please stop flirting with Nick."
"I'm not flirting with him!"
"Yes, you are and it really makes me mad because you can't even look in my eyes!"
"You love Taylor, Joe!"
"Oh God. You really piss me off." He let the boards fall down on the sand and the next instant, he was cupping her face with his palms. He searched for her lips with his and found it in no time. It was a soft and sweet kiss. He felt Selena's arms wrapping around his neck. He caressed her wet hair. He could taste the salty water in her lips which made things even more surreal. Neither of them wanted to pull away but they both did at the same time because of the need to breathe. They were panting when they pulled away. They looked into each other's eyes.
Selena shook her head. "That was really wrong."
Joe kissed her eyes. "Why?"
"You have to stop doing this."
"Don't you trust me?"
"I don't trust myself when I'm with you. So please, if you like me at all, just stop this. We both know that that this whole mess is a lie and a sin. We can't fix a lie with another lie. Let's get over this."
Joe stepped back. "Fine. Just so you know, I really hate you for being so damn gorgeous." He picked up the boards and flipped his bangs before leaving her alone in the shore.
Selena watched him walk away with all the muscles bulging on him and sighed as she wrapped herself in a towel. "The feeling is mutual, stud." She said to herself as Joe disappeared from her sight.

a/n: This really took me forever to update. I just finished exams last wednesday so I updated it today. I hope you like it. So..Nelena is back and Jelena is together in Hope for Haiti. And please, comment. love y'all.
