The master of horror returns to the kind of filmmaking he pioneered and the
genre he invented. In his first independent zombie film in over twenty years, George A. Romero takes us back to ground zero in the history of the living dead.

Jason Creed and a small crew of college filmmakers are in the Pennsylvania
woods making a no-budget horror film when they hear the terrifying news that the dead have started returning to life.

Led by Jason's girlfriend, Debra, the frightened young filmmakers set off in
a friend's old Winnebago to try to get back to the only safety and security they know: their homes. But there is no escape from the crisis, nor any real home for them anymore. Everything they depend upon, all that they hold dear, is fractured as the plague of the living dead begins to spread.

Jason documents the true-life horrors in a tense, first-person style that
heightens the reality of each encounter. Even as his friends die, even as they are attacked by ravenous walking corpses at every stop along the way, Jason keeps filming, an obsessive, unflinching eye in the midst of chaos.

The government first denies, then promises to quell the crisis, but can't.
Technology fails. Communication with the rest of the world becomes impossible. Jason and what remains of his crew end up on their own, a handful of lucky survivors, reliant on no one but themselves to stay alive. They take final refuge in a fortress of a mansion, but their sanctuary turns out to be a trap
from which there is no escape. Throughout it all, the cameras keep rolling, recording every detail for future generations...if any survive.

  • In Romero's films, you don't have to be bitten by a zombie to become a zombie - some unknown cosmic event has caused anyone who has recently died of ANY CAUSE to reanimate, as long as their brain is intact. A zombie bite might kill you, but it's not the only way of becoming a zombie.

  • well, zombies bite people and if they escape from the zombies they will transform into zombies and if zombies bite a group of people and somebody kill them and the people survive they will be zombies and I think that if you are being eaten by one zombie you will try to escape and if you escape you will become a zombie

  • thanks for the clip, good scene, i will have to pick this up on dvd, not my favorite, but it's a good one, again, thanks for the video

'dead doctor, dead nurse, makes sense dosen't it'? foir some reason she sounded like buffy when she said that, it's something you expect to hear on buffy the vampire slayer... heh

  • Zombies turn over their victims. not eat them.

  • You have to consider that zombies are creatures of terror, not strength - unlike most horror monsters. Their prey are people not acquainted with something as bizarre and horrible as death - let-alone living death.

They lack the skill to properly use a gun - to score a headshot. The average civilian would be in shock; they would draw upon automatic reason: "humans (human-looking creatures) can be killed with a shot [to the chest.]"

Only time can prove headshots are the key to bringing Z's down

  • While some victims are bitten by zombies and left to reanimate, most new resurrections are the result of victims sustaining less serious - less immediate wounds; giving them time to escape being eaten, to safety: where they succumb to their injuries and rise as new ghouls.

  • Well, if a zombie was walking toward you I don't think you would go wait don't shoot until you aim at the head directly. Then it would kill you for sure

  • How can there be more zombies when zombies eat their victims?

    HELLOOOOOOOOO?
