Ely riverside and cathedral
The intention was to take some clips on the way to Palace Green to watch colourful ice skaters, ha ha. Turns out it was a small round area like those horrible garden swimming pools, tiled, no ice, with kids falling all over each other it was such a small area. I had visions of New York, or Somerset House, lol.

Hello, I read your post with interest as I am thinking of moving to Ely permanently. I visit every year. The houses are cheaper than the Thames Valley and I like the town.
Have you moved back to Ely ? If so, what are the good points and bad points of the town. Your advice would be very helpful.

It sounds like a pleasant place to live!
Thanks for your advice and I hope you have a good time in Scotland!

I would yes. Overall it is a very pleasant place to be. As a small city its size isn't overwhleming, and has some nice places to visit in and around the area. It also has a decent train links to Cambridge, London, Peterborough and many other places. I'm living in Scotland at the moment but in a mere 6 weeks I'm moving back down that way, to a small town 5 miles outside of Ely!

So having lived in Ely for so long, would you say it was a nice place to live or not?

I have lived near Ely for most of my life, just moving recently. This is like a perfect document if you wanted to sell Ely to someone. It really can be this beautiful! Emphasis on the "can"... *cough-cough* New Barns *cough-Cough* where I lived. lol! it actually wasn't that bad, I'm being a schmuck!

Cool video! I have never approached the Cathedral from that direction before! Never been down the river either, it looks lovely! Thanks for sharing
