heres my review:
this is first indoor footage ive shot with a canon sd780is + standalone fisheye mount that i made myself.
the footage was shot in medium light indoors at 720p, 30fps.
....some light amplifcation noise is obvious in darker frames with a lot of movement... but keep in mind its only a point and shoot camera so there is no shutter adjustment to make up for it.

the media was rendered as a .MOV at 1280x720 resolution with h.264 compression so it would fit on youtube. when i exported the same movie as an .AVI, the footage was much cleaner with zero pixellated distortion between frames that had a lot of movement, but the file size was way too large to upload.

im hosting this to see if youtube blends out the distortion caused by compression.

at any rate, im impressed with this camera. the quality of the footage in ample lighting is superb....
especially for $200. the reason i bought it was to make a helmet camera for ziplining in costa rica...since its only the size of a credit card making mounting very easy.

  • @skaterkid2153 called read the manual

  • can you make a video on how to make a fisheye for this camera?

  • how do you upload vieos i have the same camera and i cant upload them

    can you help?

  • I've gone from a Flip Ultra, which I loved, to a Kodak Zi6 for HD capabilities, which I found had such horrid low light quality and sound, I finally I think settled with this sd780. I'm blown away by the video quality versus the other 2 cameras... The Kodak however, isn't terrible all round.. The price is great, the bright outdoor shots are very nice, and the macro mode is actually better than the sd780... However in all other areas and more this Canon sd780 is the best out of the 3. =D

  • looks awesome, how do you get the fish eye thing?? i just bought this camera today its awesome
