actually, putting the tail gate down doesnt help at all, and it was proven. It creates a negative drag on the truck, your actually better off leaving it up.

@MAMH121890NWATNA ouch. its a quick fix but did that bang hurt the motor at all?

@PrestonWolff09 The motor was fine, he just had to change to a bronze distributor gear and it was back running again.

why does'nt he let the tailgate down? he would get a little extra speed

He doesn't need to put the tailgate down becuase it has a tonneau cover on it.
