First off, you don't need Python for this at all.. it litterly has nothing to do with the Audrino or controler card it'self it's just used to parse the twitter API's.
However, python has nice website parsing modules wich helps alot and the USB programming capability in Python is quite easy to use.
But again, you can go with C/C++/Java/VisualBasic or anything similar witch has either USB or Serial-port functionality :)
Anyways, cool idéa.. had the same idea but no hardware (until tomorrow :P)

@VE3n0m Lol umm thank you but i never said you needed python lol we just used it, we actually now use C++ cause we work with it more due to video game programming
