Air source heat pumps take heat from the outside air, extract it and use it to heat buildings. They can take heat out of the air even at 15 degrees below 0C. Air Source heat pumps are an extremely efficient way of providing heat - for every unit of energy they use, they produce 3-4 units of heat.
@pcangeldust but you will use more gas to do what this air source pump does. But then I guess if we all had these then we need more electricity- and so we need more solar farms- which the UK gov are not going to back- instead they want to back wind power- which is soooo expensive. I do not know answer.
