  • @rosesinvase well he was trying to have his wicked way with Daphne - naughty god! it's not all bad though, the tree was cut down and used to make the world's first guitar - rock and roll!

  • Something that is never said is that after Daphne became a laurel tree, Apollo, in memory of his love for her, made​a crown of laurel. It became a symbol of the god, in fact Apollo is often represented with a crown of laurel on his head. During the Roman Republic became the symbol of the Senate. During the Empire of Rome, it was worn by the emperors.

    Anyway yes, ancient sad love story. lol
