That's right, Tengen was Atari Games' home gaming brand label as they wasn't allowed to use the Atari name on the console/computer market by Atari Corp.

Actually, Tengen was a division of Atari. I still believe you about the bad port of Shinobi, though.

Yes, It's made by Tengen, a crappy unlicensed game company who port Sega Master games and put them on NES.

I'm not surprised. The PC-Engine was known for near-perfect arcade ports, am I right? I assumed the soundtrack was produced perfectly on the PC-Engine.

the pc engine port of shinobi was similarly very diffcult, if not impossible.
