Join Music Director Gustavo Dudamel and Gothenburg Symphony in a rehearsal of Stravinsky's famous Firebird, this time the whole ballet and not just the suite. Double Bass player Jan Alm introduces us in the work on the podium. Recorded November 22, 2010.

  • Great video, it's nice to see how gustavo works with the orchestra. Even though his english is not very good, who needs it when there's the international language called music. :)

  • Gustavo Dudamel is the best thing to happen to The Symphony since Leopold Stokowski became director of The Philadelphia Orchestra in 1912.

  • Gustavo exudes enormous confidence when he communicates with the orchestra. It is almost as if he were the composer of the piece. He almost shows no ego, and he is not yet thirty years old. Just amazing. I am so glad that we have him in California.

  • @chiztrix Dudamel is actually quite proficient in English; watch the "60 Minutes" interview with him.
