SO, you need: a medicine ball, or tennis ball, or pvc pipe. Optional - a buddy's elbow.
you also need: two 5 pound weights and an incline bench.

-I started doing this nearly a year ago after watching videos on youtube.com/smittydiesel ... I found what I do here from him.

-This is the gist of what I do to warm up/prepare for a workout. For upper body - just "roll" the medicine ball or foam roller onto your upper body muscles in circular motions. Experiment with this to find the best method that works for you. You can do this any time of the day though, it doesn't have to be before a workout. Myofascial release on postworkout or off days also helps my recovery.

  • I've been doing that warm-up ever since I saw Smittydiesel's videos. Definitely has helped my workouts/mobility in the weight room and on the field. I also have a PVC pipe for my myofacial release. Plus the bench video that smitty has helped me increase my strength dramatically. Just the elbow correction was what I was missing, and my shoulders have never felt better. I know this is an old video, but Keep up the hard work and good luck at your show.

  • I did the myofascial release right before my leg workout and when I started doing front and back squat supersets, my legs got really tight and cramped up HEAPS. Is this normal for the first time trying that?

  • I used to be a ballet dancer(yeah im a guy lol). I did a deadlift int ballet shoes once. Those shoes are piss poor for any kind of strength training lol.
