  • Even if you rented a VCR and it went on the blink, it'd still be bad news if it took out one of your favourite tapes in the process! Radio Rentals were generally good from what I remmeber. The only proplem was when they started employing very sarcastic, arsey repair men in their later years. Still seems weird that TV and Video rental shops have all but disappeared now.

  • that is funny at the last 2 seconds

  • i think Radio rentals capitalized on the lack of decent consumer electronic products of the day and that the fact that TV sets were reasonably expensive, if you wanted the fairly new technology... a video recorder.. then you'll be out of pocket by hundreds of pounds if you bought the items new, then the market became flooded, new products came and went and then the internet became more popular around 2000 which in turn... is slowly killing off old terrestrial TV format.

  • A young Lawrence O'donnell!

  • @glunglun you used to hire televisions? i did not know that

  • gets me every time

  • FR-FR-FR-FR-FRITZ!

  • SO did they really ban video nasties?

  • Radio Rentals was far too up-market for my neighbourhood, we were stuck with Granada and Rediffusion.

  • Now Yoga for beginners, HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!! LMAO! Classic.

  • There were two video rental places in my neighborhood. One was called "Futurevision" and the other "J&P video." Yep, both long gone.

  • Mmn. There used to be a small video rental store in our neighborhood, by the name of Go Video. Only place within driving distance that had Dr Who tapes. I was very little when they went out of business. I remember crying.

It's a shame that small businesses don't seem to last long any more. Sweet little places like that are hard to come by now...
