We go today to our friends private lake. It is roughly one and a half acres big but looks a lot bigger due to its proportions. We hit the jackpot fishing over a small raked area (the rest of the lake is thick with weed) and catch just over 20lb of fish in just under four hours. We hope you enjoy.

  • The weighing at the end was not correct, you were firstly weighing it out of the water which easily added around a good 5pound in weight. Secondly you were weighing it in a keepnet dripping of water. This means that you can't be 100% accurate with you're weighing. I would reccomend buying a weighing sling to weigh you're catches safley and fish friendly. Good vids lads, keep em comming.

  • @SouthCerneyFisherman Yeah but we knocked off 2lb at the end for all that stuff :\ We didn't want 100% accuracy either, just two lads wanting a rough idea on the weight of fish they caught.

  • 3:58 It's a rudd... but what's in the name? It's a good fish.

  • @TheMeistereckhart No its actually a Roach. if you look carefully there is no upturned mouth and it is silver in colour. Whereas a rudd has a golden colour and is a lot deeper bodied. But yes, a very good fish.

  • @MrJdn01 Can't really be 100% sure with all the hybridising. But yeah, no it wasn't three quarters water. Nets can't carry water because it has holes in it. We could've let it drained a few minutes longer to get a slightly more accurate reading, but our number one priority was getting the fish back in the water.

  • @FromTheBankFishing You cannot be 100% sure with rud anymore, with hybrids, rudd are fairly rare. Not all rudd are golden too!

  • @FromTheBankFishing Looks like a rudd to me :) Nice haul there!

  • @FromTheBankFishing And looking at 3:58 again in still I do see an upturned mouth. It has no orange dot in the eye, and the golden colour on the head is also unlike roach. They are not always that deep bodied, and the fins are more red than with roach. I'll stick to Rudd.. :O)

  • @FromTheBankFishing The dorsalfin lies more to the back than the pelvics. With roach they are above eachother. Thats what I saw....

  • @BoredNations a keep net
