  • The living room is su-pah...It really looks of-the-period...Could be from a film...

  • Many thanks!I have only just seen your message.I have de-cluttered somewhat recently, but still only have the old stuff!

  • Correct Michael, this tune is from 1932. Al Bowlly recorded it that year with the Roy Fox Band. This is a lovely version which I've never heard!

  • Oh i'd love to hear that,i bet he does a lovely job with such a nice tune!I was wondering if he had done a version-and was hunting for your list to check

  • I'm not 100% sure this is 1932,does any one know? This tune in places reminds me of some music on the film "The Railway Children" for some reason!

  • Alma Cogan recorded this and was released as her first single. Not on here though, unfortunately,

  • i wonder if anyone has ambrose playing Home if so i would love to hear it.tks for postings

  • As nice as Roy Fox and Al Bowlly, good old Sam Browne!.This one, January 29th 1932.

  • Ambrose is really always sweet like ambrosia, I love this orchestra!!! This sound is very fine. Excessive hiss can be reduced by wiping the record with a very soft, slightly damp cloth, but of course the record should be completely dry again before putting it back in the sleeve, otherwise you'd provoke mould.
