Army Cadets from SE London ACF meet Jack MacDonald, the Mayor of Hamilton, Ontario, at Easter 1980. Captain Nigel Betts, OC London Scottish Cadets Coy presents a letter of goodwill from the Mayor of the London Borough of Bexley, Councillor Frank Pearson-Sellors. (Historical note: - Captain Betts himself was to become Mayor of Bexley in 2008. The Fusilier Cadet Sergeant, Andrew Allen is now a Colonel (Late REME) with the Army Air Corp, the London Scottish Cadet Corporal John Eagle in now a WO1 in the Royal Logistics Corps and one of the Lance Bombadere's is Nigel Wooleson who is still serving as a WO2 with SE London ACF).
@xxEURO Hi. I am pleased you enjoyed this old New Reel clip. I was given to me by the local TV station and had no sound track. However, after all this time I did manage to get it copied and have put a (not so good) commentry on it.
Many of the boys in the clip are now in their late 40's and 2 are serving officers in the Army.
