When I was 11 I found a block of wood in my cellar and using wood chisels I carved a Gladius not the most pretty thing but it was good for my first try.

Very nice work!
I'm a swordsmith and I forged a Gladius styled blade last year.

Thank you very much!
I would like to learn, the original way to craft a sword... but its not easy to find a kind swordsmith with tools for that :)
Now I'm traing to finish my Roman outfit alone. It takes years, but i'll do it ;)

those tools look pretty professional to me, and why is there no sound?

Hi!
There is no sound because the copyright law problems :) My chainmail vid ws banned ones because I used the soundtrack of Ben Hur. I dont know who had problem with that....

What kind of steel did you use?
And where did you get it?

Written on the steel: 55Sicr
Its a spring steel, maybe not the best. The best steels for blades must contain high carbon contents.
