  • Mark, you are a man after my own heart. I too run out into the thunderstorms to photograph them and experience nature's theater. I marvel at the arrival of the edge of a cold front when it has been hot. Just like opening a 'fridge door. Impressive! Part of what adds to my weather enjoyment is my Davis VantagePro 2 weather station. I've had it for 5 years now. It was an interesting barograph I was able to see after Hurricane Ike came through here in '08. I am a weather junkie! I enjoy your vids.

  • @terawattyear Thanks, man! Nothing more amazing than standing before Nature's raw power. Where do you chase?

  • I am always amazed as to how happy you sound ... always... deep snow, thunderstorm, explaining chemistry problems... your tone is one that seems to enjoy life.

  • @theladyisabelle What else is life for but to be thoroughly embraced and enjoyed? :) We have one shot, may as well make the most of what you've got! :)

  • Well, I would love to go on a chase such as you have documented. One day I am going to do just that. For now, I kind of let the storms come to me, as plenty of them do. I live around Houston, TX. We get a lot of T-storms. Some of the lightning strikes have been frighteningly close. Sadly I have not captured much on video of them. As long as they are not close enough to hit me, I will enjoy watching them. I built a lightning detector that I dearly love. Works on about 200kHz and is sensitive.

  • Haha, I love your videos! Even if they're not always about chemistry :P Oh yeah, just thought I would add this in but.... I love your science songs!!! I even put them on my iPod and I listen to them everyday! Thank you for increasing my love for science.

  • this storm came over long island very windy thought there was going to be A tornado .
