At today's launch of State of the World 2011: Innovations that Nourish the Planet in Berlin, Germany, hosted by the Heinrich Boll Foundation, Judi Wakhungu, Executive Director of the African Centre for Technology Studies and co-chair on the International Assessment of Agricultural Knowledge, Science and Technology for Development (IAASTD), called State of the World 2011 "an excellent follow up to the work we did on the assessment." Wakhungu went on to say that it "really takes a lot of effort to focus on the intended beneficiaries [of agricultural research] and this is why the State of the World report is especially important to us."
