Suicide is a serious matter! If someone comes to you for help, listen to them and take every word they say seriously. Tomorrow is no guarantee for anyone and for Brett, he took a hand full of pills, only after making that call for help. Unfortunately, he was dismissed and not taken seriously and as a result, today, he is gone and not with us any longer. When someone threatens with suicide, listen to them and take them seriously, they are obviously hurting inside and are crying out for help. Jacoby Lowney

  • Thank You for the comments. We sure do miss Brett. He was a good person who just wanted to be loved. I met Brett back in the early 1990s when I got out of the military. He was working at Leo's IGA in Butte, bagging groceries. Prior to Brett's death, we spoke on the phone while he was living in san Diego and had invited me to come see him. I never did make it in time. I wished I had. Jacoby

  • OMG!! I am crying so hard right now. I grew up in Dillon though I did not know Brett Very well I did know him. I loved to listen to him sing and he was always wonderful to me even though then I really was a kid. I always remmbered him and have talked about him often and wondered what happened to him. Now I know and my heart hurts. TY for posting this,

  • I lost my nephew just last month to suicide. It happened in Missoula where he was staying with his dad and he had just lost his mom to cancer. My brother (my nephew's dad) was the one to discover him. He had shot himself. In just a couple of weeks he would have been 27. From my understanding he had been going to counciling and everyone thought he was doing better. Here is a guy that could play guitar very well and from what I was told was Number 8 in the world, in the World of Warcraft game.

  • Although I didn't know Brett all that well, I knew him and his sister Brenda because I had them in a few classes in High School. I remember that he loved Joan Jett, Pat Benatar, Cher, and Psycho Sluts from Hell. I think there were other bands that he liked a lot too but I can't remember them all. If memory serves me well (and its rare that it does) he gave me a KISS tape or two which I still have. Thanks for making school fun at times and to the people you told how it was Brett. Shawn Dye
