Hotzone/Seeker Groms Open 2010 Snowboard Contest Mayrhofen

Once again, the shred season at Vans Penken Park has been opened by young blood snowboarders under 18 years. Just in time for the Hotzone.tv & The Seeker Groms Open, the Vans Penken Park shines with a stately set-up, that has been constructed by Stefan Plattner and his team within the last few days.

The conditions could not have been better: blue bird and sunshine, a perfectly shaped Vans Penken Park and even fresh powder all over the resort ensured good vibes for the first training session in the morning. The 21 riders from all over Europe showed off their best tricks at the qualifications on the medium line, consisting of different boxes, rails and two medium kickers in front of the judges Andi Lehmann, Lars Oesterle and Fenky the Seeker himself. For the finals, the best 8 riders competed on the pro line for 1000 EUROs of prize money.

Within the final jam session, the local rider Tobi Fieg from Rohrberg saved himself the Groms Open 2010 crown with a bs 9 to fs 3. Georg Huber from Ramsau scored twice with the best result in the category under 16 years and second place in the total ranking with a sw bs 3 to cab and fs 3 to fs 7 tail. Simon Pircher from Westendorf landed on 3rd place with a bs 3 melon to fs 7 tail, right in front of Daniel Rajcsanyi with a stylish bs 7 japan. Florian Corzelius became 5th with his bs 3 to fs 9 revert, right before Stefan Koenig, who unfortunately slammed his bs 3 to bs 7. Johannes Handle turned 7th of the finals before Samy Kahn.

Not only the finalists, but all participants have been endowed with loads of goodies from Vans, Hotzone.tv and the Seeker.

The Hotzone.tv & The Seeker Groms Open have been the kick-off for the opening event week at the Vans Penken Park. Beside local snowboard pros like Werni Stock, Peter König etc., some of the Vans team riders look forward to a great training season at the Vans Penken Park 2010.
