  • It should be habasha for that word is older then abesha and was on the walls of the ancient Egyptains to refer to certain Ethiopians

    In Gonder they say Habesha not abesha.

  • TelaTej--you are loud and clear,by the way i was born in Gonder but moved to Addis when i was just 2 months old,

  • Usually Tigres both Tigrai and Eritreans pronounce the word as Habesha written or verbal but the amaras and the rest pronounce it as Abesha.

    Growing up in Addis I never heard anybody that is amara pronounce the word with an "H" it's always Abesha. The guy is from Gonder (amara).
