the "Ø" is pronounced like the "i" in bird or the "e" in "nerd"

I Scandinavia we have 3 ekstra vowels; Æ, Ø & Å. Ø has a distinct sound. Æ sounds like the e in eggs. Å sounds sounds like the o i oh. Ø is a bit difficult. cant really think of an english pronounciation that sounds exactly like it. think of o and e together. (which is also the way you write the sound outside of Scandinavia; "oe".
