The new iMovie program stinks and won't let me put reverb into the music (I know, some people hate reverb. I happen to like it.) My student, Justin, remarked that he missed the echo so I thought I'd take a moment before I head out to a Christmas party and record a quick jig - the Connaughtman's Rambles - with the echo effect.

  • What brand/kind of whistle are you using in this video?

  • It's an O'Riordan in C. I apologize for the video quality - I shot it using my old laptop and the camera isn't great.

  • Nice one Mr. Duns. The echo effect is back.

  • Wow, Justin, you're fast!

  • @GrandEpos well depens the whistle if its a high quality one like traditional clarke like mine it doesnt matter

  • @RyanDunsSJ yes but the sound quality is great. im living in america now from Ireland, this lifts my spirit to hear such wonderful playing. thank you :)

  • Makes me want to pick up the ten whistle now and start playing. Do you still give lessons on you tube?

  • Man... Came home from college today for Christmas break and I left my whistles at school. I really want them now!!

  • that can be true... However, this guy is an excellent whistle player. What he is using it for is depth of sound. When playing tunes solo on an instrument, like the whistle, reverb can help add depth... he clearly doesn't use it to mask mistakes.... l

  • well i like the reverb too!

  • Very Well done --- Lovely Style... on this -

    jim

  • I think echo is necessary for the whistle. I've played in auditoriums and banquet halls where the sound is EPICC. Then I play in the car and it sounds...shitee.

The whistle needs some reverb, which is why its good to add artificial if you don't play in a large space :)

  • haunting. keep posting!
