This is the day I got my first prosthetic leg (three weeks after surgery). I wasn't supposed to get it but I asked and they finally agreed. Then I said I would try to stand and that lead to asking how to walk. So I was walking for the first time very early.

  • Hi, I have discovered your video by chance and I was wondering how are you doing now? You are really pretty and I admire you for your strenght. You are an inspiration...

  • Hey, I am a right above the knee amputee and I went through my therapy to learn to walk with my prosthesis in September 2011. I just wanted to know what type of knee you were using in the video and what type of knee you are using now. I also lost my leg due to cancer.

  • This is soooooo coool. I want to be a prosthesis doctor when I grow up sooo bad. Thank you for the video, very interesting.

  • @unis96657 I suppose it was cancer. Now good luck with finding a cure.

  • wow great job hun!!!!

  • How did you lose it? I want to know so I can try to get it not to happen to others.

  • Hope you're doing well, sister. I went through the same thing 22 years ago when I was 12. If you haven't checked out Amy Purdy (she has an AMAZING TedTalk up on TEDs website right now) and Aimee Mullins--badass ladies rockin' the prosthetics. Best to you.

  • Amazing! May I ask what actually happened to you? And how does it feel to walk? Does it feel like it used to when you had 2 foots now or entirely different?
