It would be crazy if this had a system of a real nuclear material in the works

@westcoaststeamer I quite understand, thank you for pointing that out ... have a nice day :o)

Na wenn dass mal gut geht und nach dem Betrieb nicht alles strahlt. ;-)

Beautiful and rare engine.
I just got one of those two days ago, but is missing the whistle handle and the centrifugal governor.
Could you please look on yours and provide me with the measures in mm of the Bakelite handle? I will make one out of wood.
Also... would a D10 centrifugal governor be a good replacement for my missing one in my R200?
Thank you in advance.

That's just steam right?

yeah, just steam.... created by electrical heating (for demonstration purposes)

This looks like electric power supply to an internal heater for the boiler ... rather defeats the objectivity of steam power i.e; using combustable fuel to MAKE electricity ? Still, it is a nice machine ... :o)

don't forget... this is only a tabletop display machine.... depicting the operation of a nuclear power plant... which in reality would provide plenty of internal heat (without being plugged into a wall socket)!

Is the steam exhaust actually condensed and recirculated as in a real reactor?

no, it doesn't.... but the some large steam machines have enough power to force replacement water into a boiler thru a pump from a tank...
