The Hollies - On a Carousel (alternate take)

Here's the alternate take version that I mentioned earlier. I seem to recall reading that this was filmed for some '60s Granada TV program on the pop music of the day, similar to the CBS "Inside Pop" doc in which the Hollies also appeared. I'd sure love to see the whole program if that's true.

Yes it was broadcast on a Granada programme called The World Today in early 1967. Apparently the full footage of it is 15 minutes long. I hope its in the Granada archive somewhere.

Excellent alternate take / mixed " live " - recorded version compared to the other clip on YouTube where they've just overdubbed the recorded version fully; I prefer this one for the " realism ". The camera operator got a bit carried away with the " round and round and round and round " and " up...down - up....down " ; the camera moves quite a bit ! Regards.

Watching Bobby Elliot drumming is an adventure unto itself. He was the reason I liked The Firm.

To me, it kinda sounds like the same take as the master, but it only sounds different because the camera crew is picking up the dry instrumentation, and I'm sure they did some vocal overdubs later. Nonetheless, it's always fascinating to see studio magic as it happens, and hearing the song end cold is quite cool, too.
