  • Hypothetically, if you had coffeecake and a male pollinator (i.e. chocolate), would you have to keep them away from your other persimmons (i.e. Jiro, Giant, Fuyu) to avoid seeds being created in the Jiro, Giant, or Fuyu? If so, how far away should they be placed? Thanks in advance for your help!

  • @getmesomechopstx Yes, separation far enough to avoid cross pollination by bee activity. I would imagine several hundred yards. I have Jiro, Hichiya, Coffee Cake and Chocolate planted as a four in one. I get great pollinated Coffee Cake fruit and a wonderful set on all four. Seeds in my Jiro don't bother me, considering all the other benefits I can deal with a few seeds.
