I have tried it on my omnia several times and it' s totally true. The secret is to hold tight the bottom part of the cell phone . Sorry folks the myth is confirmed.

Fake. I have Omnia II and I cannot get any bars off no matter how I try to keep the phone or keep it in a closed bag. It worked fine and did not drop the call even inside a train moving 160km/h through a tunnel.
