That's not enough! We demand more asbestos! More asbestos! More asbestos!

I assume when the twin towers collapsed, the dust particles spread throughout many nearby streets where people were present. The risk of asbestos was there.

In the UK, someone dies of asbestos related disease (mesothelioma) every 5 hours. Annually that is over 2000 deaths!

@omid11 it's a naturally occurring mineral, not man made! It was used in housing decades ago because people weren't as aware of the health problems, and at face-value, asbestos is very useful since it doesn't burn. We're only aware of the issues now since so many people exposed to it have died due of mesothelioma, where one single fibre gets caught in the lungs and cancer grows from it. Just don't go anywhere near old buildings being renovated whatever you do.

Canada exports this poison to India and other poor countries, while banning it from use within Canada. Hypocritical greedy killers.

En Chile el problema del asbesto ya ha matado a 300 personas. La Industria de Pizarreño aun no se hace cargo.

Not entirely true. Your body can remove some of them. If one particle of asbestos was so very dangerous, everyone would be dead. it is naturally occurring. The danger is breathing in large amounts of over years. That is why most fatalities center around asbestos production, ship building, construction and so forth.
Still wear a 20 dollar respirator with a HEPA filter. Cheap paint masks will do nothing.

at least it keeps the rats out
scary stuff, make sure you wear a particle mask when working with asbestos.

It is dangerous! Asbestos can't escape the lungs once inhaled!
