@throwindembows No system is perfect and citizens are the ones responsible for the future of the society. Although interests groups and corporations cast their power together (which is a true form of oligarchy), they too are citizens are they not?

Folks understand republicanism as conservatism and align socialism with liberalism. each of these categories have traits exclusive to themselves. I feel as though folks who complain about the circumstances of power are the same ones who cannot differentiate these types of governmental systems. It has been proven throughout the course of history that direct democracy does not function in vast societies, despite their functionality in townships.

@kumarsumman Canadians know more about America's government, than Americans do. He points out a flaw that only some see.
