VT Police Search Car - Find Nothing

Part 2 of Andrew's saga in Bellows Falls VT on Dec. 3, 2009. After being presented with two options - Consent to a search, or the police would take the car, Andrew "consented" to his car being searched. So he is held hostage while police go through his car on the excuse that "the dog alerted".

Watch at 4:45 when the Trooper thinks he's found his prize. But the field test kit doesn't prove anything.

VT State Trooper Michael Studin searched for over an hour, and found no evidence of drugs anywhere.

How many crimes were committed while these cops wasted their time. It goes to show that the instincts of police officers are often flawed, and when their ego is tested, they will go to extremes to try to find a way to make themselves feel better.

Plus if the cop towed the vehicle without consent and no crime was committed then the police are liable to all charges imposed on you.(such as tow fees and such)

He had no probable cause that's why he had to scare you into giving consent. If he has probable cause that you committed a crime he could have searched the vehicle even without a warrant if he felt that evidence could be compromised while waiting for the warrant. Never give consent no matter wait.
