FD crews were dispatched to a reported fast moving fire on the rear balcony of a 3 story multi-unit apartment building. On arrival crews advised of a working fire to the rear of the building. Crews made an aggressive interior attack, but were forced out within minutes. The fire progressed into the roof and breeze way consuming the entire building. Crews from Lake Station, New Chicago, Portage, and South Haven assisted and no injuries were reported. Fire investigators were working on the cause, initial reports showed outdoor cooking may have started the fire

  • The guy @ 3:00 ish needs to STFU he doesnt know why it tooks 10 Minutes to arrive on scene, Maybe they just left another fire, accident, medical emergency, Maybe they had to drive from across town because the station covering their side was on another call, Fire Fighters rush fast enough and have to be safe at the same time, People like that just will never understand. BTW nice video as always!

  • @astanford09 The thing is the FD was on scene at the front of the building advancing multiple lines into the building, the guy sitting in the rear had no idea what was going on. They were making an interior attack while this putts thinks they are letting the building go. He just had no idea

  • That is one serious fire dude. You catch the best of the best. Is all the fires you record all in one city? Also firefighters let you be on scene? I know where i live if you are on the seen of a fire and you not a firefighter and or a volunteer firefighter your kicked off the scene.

  • @nickcasto2 Most of the videos are from Northwest Indiana, primarily from Lake and Porter Counties. The law states anything in plain view can be recorded and you can be on scene. The fire departments out here use my videos as a tool to train and learn from, they are actually a valuable tool to lean from. Sorry you get kicked out, but per the law you have every right to be there

  • That looked like a tough fire. Most of those 60's and 70's buildings with mansard roofs are losers.

  • Thnx for posting this (yes, I'm kinda late, lol.

I was one of the people who called it in (I live in the building directly across from this one). FD did a great job, considering this turd didn't want to go out.

Needless to say, I got renter's insurance a few days later. ;)

  • @astanford09 Some people don't relaize that 80% of the Nation Firefighters are Volunteers, and we don't sleep in the firehouse and the hat the Truck or Engine needs a Crew to get out on a call.

  • Now THAT is a fire!!
