I have watched a few dozen of these Shanghai pancake videos, and they fascinate me to no end.

YUM! I loved these in Beijing - they were only 1.5 yuan near the place I was staying - such a bargain for such a delicious way to start the day. I'm visiting Shanghai later in the year, so it's good to know they're available there, too. Can't wait!!!

Crepe is probably the first cooked grain dish ever created.
You mash some grain with water and pour it on a hot rock.
That's probably why it's so wide spread.

WOW!

That is almost how the crepes in France are made minus the egg and spices. Gotta love street food!

Awesome, just awesome! Now i know why i luv chinese food, they's so articulate and really know how to combine the different textures and flavors! Thanx for sharin'!
That's a crepe, dude. = ) They make the same thing at food carts all over Philadelphia. The crepe guy told me that "it's all in the wrist." HA!

Do they have chilli and spring onions and yellow stuff that may be soy related? This one didn't taste like any crepe I've eaten, being crunchy and spicy, but if that's what Philadelphia's crepe's are like, I'm coming :)
