While drivers often complain about being impeded by people on bicycles, they tend to forget it goes both ways. Indeed, I'm sure I spend far more time waiting on cars than any driver loses because of people on bicycles. If you don't believe me, carry a stopwatch with you as you drive. Clock the time you spend slowed because of other cars. It'll be far more time than you are slowed by people on bikes.
@Polaris543 That video clip probably isn't really the best example of the point I was trying to make: that I spend more time waiting for cars than drivers spend waiting for bikes. And the bigger point is that drivers are used to waiting and waiting and waiting for other drivers in traffic jams or busy intersections... and they (generally) wait calmly, but then too often explode in rage when someone on a bicycle slows them for a few seconds.

I would generally agree with you on most of your opinions but that's just silly. You were not impeded because a car was on the road. Incoming traffic has to slow down if there is someone in the middle of joining the road, whether it be car or bike
