Too often we substitute political name-calling for reasoned analysis. FDR forced regulations on banks that they spent the next 55 years trying to undo; he empowered organized labor which greatly expanded their ranks; and he developed plans (scuttled by Truman) for post-war development of former colonies to prevent today's neo-colonialism.
Obama & Democrats should return to the FDR tradition.
