This song isn't about being patrioic. Its about having pride in yourself. It is a tribute recognizing the abilities within each and every one of us and respecting these traits. Its about realizing that we are important and independent and above everything else, equal. Being common but being something extrordinary.

I did not mean that the song was composed for any one person, but as a tribute to the spirit and courage of all fighting Americans. I agree...it is for the common man.
