@destiny66 I wouldn't say protest but more of piling on, making fun of her pretense & shameless ambition. A protest-too-much scenario would be if I admire her, and it doesn't seem like that situation. If she did the song in a jokey fashion, then yeah, I would admire her, like I admire the Go-Go's singing "Cool Jerk", which is pretty much the same idea, but funny. Heather ain't funny.
So you grew up in the 80's, I guess you are part of the ecstacy/angel dust crowd, huh?

hahaha man that's hilarious. That 2 degree pro wrestler line is classic. But seriously though: Random because it's Heather Nova bro. And no I don't smoke pot I grew up in the 80's so... context clues if you will. And I'm just saying man... thou doth protest too much maybe? It almost comes off as personal man. Very intense in your dislike of a chick that sings "with the light in our eyes it's hard to see." hahahaha. Brain bending stuff those lyrics I know but...
-
@destiny66 "random"? what, do you smoke pot or something? jealous of who? resentment of....? Heather? You mean jealous of a career where I would have to sing crudely unsubtle double entendres that are more easily described as grotesquely clumsy sexual innuendos? Sure, what self respecting artist wouldn't be jealous of that career? Like being 1.5 degrees above being a porn star, but still 2 degrees below pro wrestler.

Hahaha I'm diggin your retorts man but they ooze jealousy/resentment. But that's what you're going for so bravo. Or... Bravo?
And by the way... how random to have all this going on a Heather Nova Vevo page. Seriously.

UNDERRATED!!!! Where the hell did she go? :(

@diesel3981 hmmph... just heard "Sugar (Sugar)". Yes...about as subtle as a train wreck.
I wonder if her producer ever thinks to say, "y'know, Heather, your metaphors are kind of..well...blunt?". (Unless he's the one who suggested them.)
I want to love this song, just like I want to love the enthusiastic girl who's blowing me but that deep down experience tells me she's the type more interested in the contents of my wallet than aught else.

@zambonitron It wasn't a fast food wisecrack, it was an occupational wisecrack. Your disgruntlement with your 10 year+ fry chef career is your issue.
Incidentally, french fries are also made in some of the finest restaurants in the world, but
I guess we now know how fine a restaurant you work in (I never said it was a fry station
at a fast food restaurant, you made that connection by saying fast food jokes were stale
10 years back. Guess you need to change the lard?)

Get new material. Fast food wisecracks stopped being funny 10 years ago when they got played out. Thats the best you can do?
One of my top 10 favorite songs of the 90s for sure!
