This song came out in the same era as bands like Alice in Chains, NiN, RATM, Deftones. There's always been angry and happy music.

Why did you start by listing two bands that reached their peak 15 years ago as examples of "now"? :)

Oh well, there are more and yes, music was better in the 1990s. But that's not what I was saying. All I was saying is that, that guy had absolutely no merit to say "All bands sing about sluts and hating life nowadays."

I don't know several of the bands you mentioned, so there may be more, but do you realized that Foo Fighters, Green Day, and Weezer were all around in the 90s. This post just proves the point that music was better in the 90s.

The first concert I ever went to was in June 1995. Better than Ezra was one of the bands playing that night.

Perhaps there is more to this song then meets the eye. For example, rather than fretting about being left by his girlfriend, rather than drowning his sorrows in the bottle and waking up 5 or 10 years later facing all that wasted time, he celebrates what they had and moves on.
