  • These needles are expensive, I imagine, because of the intensive multi step process that goes into making them and for the fact that the owner refuses to cut any corners in the production of these needles. The dpns have a special micro textured coating that gives them the perfect slickness. I love my dpns. I have one pair which I got for my birthday. I do knit socks, and if I'm spending who knows how many hours at a time knitting something, it's worth it to me to have the perfect tool.

  • You did not answer my question. You only state a fact that people will spend a lot of money on an object. The question is; Why are they so expensive? What do you think makes them as valuable as a weeks worth of groceries? Please divulge the entire reasons why you say people should buy the needles so luxuriously described as driving a Cadillac. Is it the shape, the material, the employees benefit package? What is the real reason other than, because people like it?

  • @sharptownlady It seems pretty expensive to me but they are a luxury product targeting a market where people will make a pair of socks with yarn costing $30+. It may seem bizarre when socks can be bought for less than a couple of bucks but its a personal choice thing. I guess its like a car, if you spend hours in it and driving it you want the best feel and experience, same with knitting needles. People spend hours knitting so they want quality needles that is a dream to knit with.

  • I keep asking why do they have to be so terribly expensive. I believe this is what's wrong in America! America makes too expensive articles for the typical citizen.
