I-1033 sponsor Tim Eyman defends his initiative Tuesday in a debate against Frank Ordway from the League of Education Voters at a Greater University Chamber meeting.
The worst thing you can do during a recession or depression is to cut services -education, fire fighters, police and building roads. Who will educate and retrain the workers that lost their jobs? Who will educate our children so that they can find jobs when they graduate into today's economy? Who will fight all of the crime? Who will fund the infrastructure projects that will be needed to get us out of the bad economy?
I-1033 will lower the tax burden on mall and apartment building owners
Seriously, what makes you think there is any reckless spending in your fire department, police department, roads and education? I-1033 will wreck our education system just like TABOR did in Colorado. I-1033 will kill the Washington economy. VOTE NO on I-1033.
Lower taxes do not help the taxpayer's that use public services, and everybody, to some extent, uses public services. We are a country, and we need to fund our public works and support the unlucky and disadvantaged among us. Vote NO on 1033. Tim Eyman wants to keep the money where it is - with the rich.
Vote yes for 1033. It will hurt at first. But we need to cut back on reckless spending. Don't blame 1033 for cutting services. Blame politicians for creating them knowing that taxes would have to be raised to keep them going. Knowing that once the services and programs were started that people would complain if they were cut. Therefore raising taxes would be justified.
But it's not.
Vote Yes.
This is just my opinion. I'm only 22 and just starting to pay attention to our leaders.

Do you even know what property taxes pay for? Who do you think paid for your k-12 school? How do you think firemen and police officers get paid?
