@robertjvictor -- They need s narrow landing gear because of the confined space that they'll be landing in, I guess. That's what would make it make sense anyway.
-
@robertjvictor because you need to make that shit as light ass possible. the landing gear is light as possible but still strong enough to hold it up
-
@robertjvictor I keep thinking that too
What is there deal?
-
@robertjvictor I agree, never could figure that one out,I mean if its a case of not fitting, make it retractable, duh .I've seen this happen so many times over the years, thats why companies should all have QC people like us,people that say,ah duh,its going to tip over, the center of gravity is too high and the landing gear isn't wide enough.

scare you neighbors into thinking there are UFOs coming :)

It might be due to how these are not production ready vehicles but rather prototypes and that being able to consistently land on such narrow landing gear demonstrates superior control over a vehicle that must use wider landing gear.
It might be X Prize competition rules (I doubt it) or it might be just to demonstrate control.
Obviously a production ready vehicle would use as wide landing gear as it would accommodate.

@robertjvictor If it ain't broke don't fix it.
