@jackthrift This technique is widely used in particular kinds of music such as psychedelic rock. I agree, however, that this is not the best video of it out there, it's very old, but I can't be bothered to make a new one..

this DOES sound like a violin dumbasses! I been playing the violin since I was 5 and guitar since I was 15 and while this is not masterful technique, it does sound like a violin. Again, not amazingly done but better than you punks can prolly do and better than I can do.

@ShayCarlFan1000 Thanks! not trolling though. I really did play that long. Still have it too but only play guitar. And I never said this guy was great. Just that it does sound like a violin if you have any imagination at all and can get pretend you are not looking at a guitar. Hell, play it to a non-guitarist without letting them look and see what they say. They defilly will not say guitar. Dude needs practice though. :)

this is an effect called slow gear... i have it on my boss me 70... just a little bit more analog delay added but its basically the same
