The Classic Game Room lost a review episode into the sea of tapes from the old Inecom Entertainment archives, and with it the timeless review of the space shooter OMEGA BOOST. Game Room recorded the episode in February of 2000 and CGR-HD remastered it in April of 2008 with the master studio footage and new video game footage. This episode will also teach you how to edit, post videos on YouTube in HD with superior quality video and audio, mix, author, use Betacam SP tape decks, Canon XH A1 (XHA1), Adobe Premiere Pro with Matrox Axio LE, Premier, Photoshop and video editing software. Booya!

Omega Boost was created by Polyphony Digital, the same people who brought you the Gran Turismo series. You fly around as an awesome robot and destroy wave after wave of science fiction movie style enemies. Dave thought the game was like Robotech mixed with Panzer Dragoon, Mark thinks it has a great subwoofer friendly sountrack with machine gun sounds and music from Static-X. Do you like Robotech, Star Wars, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, Battle of the Planets, Voltron, Tranzor Z, Silverhawks or any other awesome 80's cartoon robots? Did you play Project Sypheed on the Xbox 360? If so you'll love Omega Boost.

Classic Game Room reviewed Atari, NES, Nintendo, Sega Genesis, Dreamcast and Playstation... too bad they didn't get to Xbox 360, PS3, PS2 or Wii. Now Classic Game Room HD is covering the new systems. GT5 GT 5 Prologue.

Classic Game Room is on DVD.

  • Maybe a dumb question but I have to ask and meant to before. What's the deal with the colorful keyboard? Special for video editing or something? And I also wanna add the Yuengling mouse pad ROCKS! I would expect nothing less from the Game Room, if it didn't involve gaming or beer it doesn't matter! :)

  • Sometimes when you get an editing system it comes with a goofy colored keyboard with all the keystroke commands on it. It looks swell with the pink and yellow. -mark

  • I love this stuff. I wish I had a setup of two big LCD monitors and a giant HDTV in the back, but one widescreen monitor is all I can have. :( The Game Room will always be my one and only inspiration!

  • Thanks everyone, glad that you enjoyed it! -mark

  • I always thought there were more elves and unicorns involved in the making of a GR episode.

  • We fired the elves and unicorns when they tried to unionize. -mark

  • 1:56 - VHS tape! Havent seen that in 8 years!

  • good work !

  • Whatever happened to Dave?

  • Great episode. I would not have known that it took that much work into getting an older review like that up with the green screen. Also, with regards to the 30 years of gaming that is in your agenda, is there an existing list from some time ago or is it one that is often subject to change? Either way, I can imagine that CGR has a major load ahead of it left to tend to.

  • i love this one. its great to see all the work that really goes into all these episodes

  • Very cool seeing the old footage again Mark. I feel 15 all over again
