Fryday Nite in Birmingham !!!!

Haaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa
aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa. Long live rock and roll -
Hensley's synth solo in this is easily as inventive as anything by Emerson, Wakeman, Wright or Banks. Why he's not more recognized as such i'll never know. If there's any video footage of this I'd love to know about it!

@blueshound611 Back in 9th grade, high school around 1977, my friends buddy took us to his house. He pulled out this album with a wicked cover of a dude in a trenchcoat and a short bald headed dude standing in a pool of blood. He started the first song and it shocked the fuck out of me the screaming/singing at the intro. Scary man. The song? Ride the Sky. The album? Lucifers Friend 1st LP. Ive actually had nightmares about it. They were tapping into the dark side. Dont listen while on acid!!!!

@sprh60 I baked a fatty with Ken Hensley in his room at The Hotel Pfister (Milwaukee, Wisconsin) in 1976 when UH was opening for KISS of the Rock & Roll Over Tour. The next day we ran into them checking out and Mick Box bought us a shoe-shine. Memories!

I first heard this in 1985 when I got my mom to buy a tape of Heavy metal hits. I wanted the Ozzy song on it. I don't listen to Ozzy much anymore but I still listen to Heep alot.

This remains my fave version of this song. I first heard it on my mum's LP of Uriah Heep live when I was about 4 (I'm now 31) & have loved it ever since.
