Jeff is great both versions are great. A song can be sung 1000+ different ways and all can be equally good.

@spazabarri there is not much point in covering the smiths but anything jeff did is well worth it, he was so good
-
ha! funny I did not notice that... i guess i was trying to get to the song too fast. thanks.

I love most everything that Jeff Buckley has done (did)... and I do like this cover but... you can't beat the original. Great song!

One beautiful dramatic voice paying tribute to perfection

I know this is a late and unnecessary reply lol but if you listen carefully, a guy right at the start goes "Hallejulah", then another guy much louder shouts "Yay!", then someone else murmurs but it's too quiet to hear, then finally Jeff goes "That's too predictable."

well there is only one morrissey!!
but jeff buckley is alright.

You have to respect Jeffs covers, because, who could copy Grace at full scream ? Not many....

I'm a huge fan of the Smiths and I love Jeffs covers of The Smiths personally, and I'm usually highly critical of Smiths covers
