Performance of Shostakovich Piano trio no.2 op.67 in E minor (2nd mov Allegro con brio) given 24th July 2008 by the sensational Greenwich Trio (Lana Trotovsek-violin, Stjepan Hauser-cello, Yoko Misumi-piano) described by cellist Bernard Greenhouse (Beaux Arts Trio) as the "Number 1 Trio in the World!"
Somebody tell that poor violinist that the upbeat at 1:59 is two quavers, not crotchets, poor Shostakovich.

Wow, so much anger and sarcasm in this movement (and so much awesomeness)... C'mon, Dmitri Dmitrievich, tell us how you *really* feel. :P

Nice interpretation. Maybe because it's close to what we did last summer with my friends on a music course I attended. I agree with previous comments, this tempo is very good, it doesn't need to be exceedingly fast.

Again, great performance! Apart from a couple of moments which I would probably choose to interpret in a different way. But that really doesn't matter. After all, who am I to talk?
I am happy to know there are still people who choose to play this movement in a more heavy, "not-so-meaninglessly-fast", a more effective way, ignoring the near-impossible metronome indication.
I think D. Shostakovich would have liked this interpretation very much!
